Nextel Direct Connect has been enhanced to let you contact any local Nextel customer anywhere in your local Direct Connect calling area. To take advantage of this feature:

1. You'll need a rate plan that's provisioned with Direct Connect minutes.
2. Both parties must have Direct Connect-capable phones and be located within the same Direct Connect local calling area.

What is Nextel Two-Way Messaging?

Two-Way Messaging is a flexible and convenient toll that allows you to send, receive and reply to text messages with your Nextel phone. With Two-Way Messaging, you can:

• Use your Nextel phone to exchange messages with almost anyone with a messaging-capable phone.
• Use email to send messages to a Nextel Two-Way subscriber
• Use nextel.com to send message to a Nextel Two-Way subscriber

Can I forward email from my PC based email software to my phone?

Yes, the Nextel messaging address (your Nextel phone number@messaging.nextel.com, for example 70355512345@messaging.nextel.com) is just like an email address. Many email systems allow you to forward a copy of all incoming mail to another address and also keep a copy locally on your email server.

What types of ring tones are available?

Nextel provides additional ring tones in nine categories: Country, R&B/Rap, Oldies, Classical, Patriotic/Folk Songs, Rock, Pop, TV/Movies, Holiday.

With Mobile Email, you can:

• Access Multiple Mailboxes – Access your existing email accounts - one corporate email account (Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes) and up to 10 Internet (POP3) email accounts.
• Manage Email with one convenient member name and password.
• Manage Contacts – Mobile Email contacts automatically synchronize with your Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes contacts. You can also import your personal contact list from Outlook, Outlook Express, or Windows Address Book. Use your contacts when addressing email messages or placing calls.
• Access your Calendar – View your appointments for the current day and the next 14 days.
• Delegate an "in office" co-worker to synchronize your data while out of the office.
• Set custom e-mail Alerts for one or all of your mailboxes. Create filters to only notify you about messages that are most important to you.
• Utilize QuickText - predefined messages that you can access quickly and sent to colleagues with the push of a few buttons.

What do I need to use Mobile Email?

An existing corporate (Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes) or POP3 email account, a Nextel Internet-ready phone, Nextel Online Mobile Email or Full Service Package, nextel.com Member Name and Password, PC with Internet access and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or greater installed.

What types of email accounts are accessible with Mobile Email?

Nextel’s Mobile Email offers wireless access to Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes email accounts as well as most POP3 accessible accounts.

What is a POP3 email account?

POP3, or Post Office Protocol 3, is a common method of receiving email from the Internet. With POP3, mail is received and held for you by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Periodically, you check your mailbox on the ISP server and download any mail received. Most ISPs offer email accounts that are POP3 accessible; however, some may charge an additional fee for access via POP3. Some ISP accounts may also be configured to work with the POP3 email protocol.

Can I check my Mobile Email on a different phone?

Yes, you can send email messages from any mailbox you’ve set up with mobile email. From your Nextel Internet-ready phone or nextel.com, login to Mobile Email. Select the Email menu option and click the Compose link. Create and send your email as usual. Remember that messages you send from Mobile Email will not appear in the Sent Mail folder on your PC. For tracking purposes, you may want to go to Settings in the Mobile Email menu and enable the feature to have a copy of outgoing messages sent to your inbox.

What is the Nextel Desktop Assistant?

The Nextel Desktop Assistant is a small software program that allows mobile access to your corporate email, contacts and calendar information. The Desktop Assistant sits in the system tray of your PC and synchronizes your corporate information while your PC is turned on and connected to your corporate network. If you are traveling outside of the office, you can designate an "in-office" co-worker to synchronize your data for you.

Nextel Online (NOL) is a set of integrated wireless and Web-based tools that lets you:
